The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State will on Tuesday 5th October, hold its local government congress across the 16 local government areas in the State.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Tunde Ashaolu, who made the announcement in a statement on Monday, urged party faithful to go out en masse to participate in the exercise to elect party officers at the local government levels to consolidate the successes recorded in the last Ward Congress across the 193 wards in the state.

“It is expected that Party members will conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner as they did in the Ward Congress, whilst any form of grievances or disagreement will be resolved using the internal mechanism of the Party,” he added.

While expressing optimism that the congress would be hitch-free like the previous Ward Congress, Ashaolu assured that the Party’s internal mechanisms are activated to resolve whatever issue that arises before, during or after the exercise.

He lauded the leadership of the party and most especially, the National Leader of the Party, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for keeping to the promise of 30% youth and women inclusiveness in the leadership selection.
