Kwara PDP Reps candidate promises National Internal Security bill

A House of Representatives Candidate for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kwara State North Central Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has promised to sponsor a bill on national security architecture if elected to the Green Chambers.

Ajia who expressed disappointment over the rising spate of insecurity in the country stressed that it was necessary to strengthen internal security.

He stated this in Ilorin at the public unveiling of his blueprint titled “my offer to serve”, which had in attendance Chairman, State chapter of the Party , Alhaji Babatunde Mohammed and former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Professor Ali Ahmad, the Director General of the campaign council in the state.

The Representatives candidate who is a retired Superintendent of Police, said the force would have to set the pace in combating security challenges internally adding that such bill will be part of measures to contain security challenges..

He informed the gathering that as a security expert, he is prioritizing security in his areas of focus in legislation owing to its importance to the survival of the people and the society at large.

I will sponsor a bill that will take care of the nation’s security architecture. We need to strengthen our internal security. In doing this, Police should take a lead role. We need coordination”, Ajia said.

Credible Election
The PDP House of Representatives candidate expressed confidence in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct credible elections with the deployment of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), saying that the last gubernatorial election in Osun State was an indication that the facility is capable of curbing electoral fraud.

He also harped on the need to embrace electronic transmission of elections’ results and as well as fortification of server of the electoral management body.

Ajia, who pledged not to disappoint the people of Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency if elected, urged them to troop out en mass and vote all candidates of PDP in the forthcoming general elections.

As part of his priorities, he promised to actively participate in the decision making process in the House of Representatives, initiate programmes and projects that will empower youth through sustainable jobs, attract federal Government’s presence to support his communities and to as well make all people of Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency proud.

He also highlighted some of his mission, if elected, which include, restoring hope and pride to his people, reduce poverty across his constituency, improve productivity and stimulate economic activities in his constituency and to also enhance security and peace in his constituency among others.

Also speaking, the state PDP chairman described Ajia as a candidate with courage, character and capability, adding that he is well prepared for the job.

He appealed to voters to encourage the likes of Ibrahim Ajia for adequate representation and maintained that his antecedents without holding any public office were convincing enough to earn him votes in the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly polls.
