Kwara: Stakeholder urges Media to support government’s efforts

Media practitioners in the Country have been urged to see themselves as critical partners in their places of work and be more creative in the discharge of their primary assignment.

Such action will further complement government’s effort in bringing the desired development in the country.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye expressed these views while receiving Executives of the state Council of Radio Television Theater and Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU led by its Chairman, Comrade Usman Oke in his Office.

He urged the media workers to make use of the Internet and the new media to promote their brands (places of work), which will increase their internally revenue generation and their own prospects.

The governor’s imagemaker also called for continued dialogue and negotiations between Labour unions and the government to have a cordial industrial relationship.

Speaking earlier, the state chairman of RATTAWU, Comrade Usman Oke commended the Governor for his worker friendly policies.

He also commended office of the CPS, S.A Labour to the Governor, Comrade AbdulKareem Mumini Onagun and the office of the Head of Service for giving their demands the much needed attention.

Oke similarly commended the state Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the prompt payment of Salaries in the state and the regular payments of N10,000 palliatives to the state workers since the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.

The RATTAWU Executives, however, promised to work with the state government especially in information dissemination so as to bridge the gap between the people and the government.
