The intervention, run under the state’s social safety net coordinated by Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), is the second in three months, according to a statement by the General Manager, Dr Tejidini Abdulwasiu Olayinka.
In August, at least 13,416 citizens received support funds from the government in the first phase.
The statement added that 1, 569 widows, 1,611 petty traders, 12,500 youths for Kwara public welfare, and 5,071 people earlier enumerated under the safety net have been approved for this phase.
Dr Tejidini noted that the slew of palliatives rolled out by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq underscored his commitment to the welfare of the people and the development of the state.
According to him, the Governor has approved the disbursement of fresh support to give a raise to the petty traders and provide relief to the indigenes.
Dr Tejidini disclosed that the government is  determined to walk through this time with the people and  deeply committed to ensuring help gets to the deserving, especially in the underserved communities in the state.
