Kwara State Chief Judge Seeks Publication of Judicial Materials

The Chief Judge of Kwara State in North Central Nigeria, Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara has admonished members of the Bench to go into judicial publication, to deepen the nation’s legal jurisprudence, practice and procedures in courts.

He gave this admonition in Ilorin, at the public presentation and launching of the Book titled, Introduction to General Practice and Procedures in Area, Customary and Shariah Courts in Nigeria,’ written by a judge of the Kwara State Area Court, Ahmad Shehu Abdulyakeen.

Justice Adebara described the book as the author’s modest contribution to knowledge and understanding of practice and procedures in courts.

He commended the author for his efforts and recommended the book to legal practitioners and students.
In his remarks, the book reviewer, Chief  Joseph  Bamigboye (SAN), described the book as a masterpiece with in-depth scholarly analysis of all the issues addressed in the general practice and procedures in the area, customary and shariah courts.

The honoree, Hon. Justice Sulyman Durosinlorun Kawu, who is the immediate past Chief Judge of Kwara State, commended the author for deeming it fit to honour him with the public presentation and launching of the book.

Justice Durosinloun Kawu was represented at the occasion, by a retired judge of the Kwara State High Court, Justice Issa Babatunde Garba.

Speaking at the occasion, the author of the book, Judge Abdulyakeen said he was motivated into writing the book by his avalanche knowledge at the Bench.

The Book launch was attended by members of the Bar and the Bench as well as members of the Olowookere family, Alore, and Ilorin.
