Kwara State Government Distributes Transformers to Communities

The Kwara State Government in North Central Nigeria has again procured and commenced immediate distribution of transformers in some communities to boost the economy at the grassroots.

 

The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Kola AbdulAzeez AbdulGaniy disclosed this at the handing over ceremony, which took place at one of the benefiting communities, Balogun, Tanke Oke-Odo, Ilorin South Local Government Area of the State.

 

According to him, the transformers are being distributed in batches to various communities across the state.

 

While handing over one of the five Transformers procured for 5 different communities across the State, Engr. AbdulGaniy revealed that “Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the immediate distribution of 5 Transformers to Balogun Community, Tanke Oke – Odo in Ilorin South Local Government, College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin West Local Government, Gerewu Community in Ilorin West Local Government, Reke Community and Gbale Asun both in Asa Local Government respectively.”

 

The Commissioner noted that lack of electricity slows down the economic growth of any given community, assuring that this administration will therefore ensure that the welfare of the entire citizens is catered for.

 

He appealed to other communities awaiting the supply of transformers to be patient, as the State government will attend to their request adequately.

 

In his remarks, the Director, of Personnel, Finance and Supply, Alhaji Hassan Taiye Afodun, charged all benefitting communities to protect government properties in their areas, assuring them of immediate installations.

 

Responding, the Secretary of Balogun Community, Tanke Oke-Odo, Mr. Adebayo Emmanuel, appreciated the Governor for extending the dividend of democracy to their community, pledging their support to the present administration at all times.

 

While receiving the Commissioner and his entourage, the Registrar, of the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Mr. Afolabi Suleiman, commended the AbdulRazaq-led administration on its landmark achievements in all sectors across the State.

 

He assured the team that the school Management would make good use of the transformer.

 

At the other communities, the Alangua of Reke, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Afolabi, Magaji of Gerewu Community, Alhaji Amasa Lagbe and Magaji Gbale Asun, Mallam Jimoh Mutalubi appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq for the kind gesture and prayed for his successful tenure of office.

 

The entourage of the Commissioner included the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Alhaji Hassan Afodun; Ag. Director, Electrical Engineering, Engr. Dada Fisayo; and Head of Procurement and Store, Mr Abiodun Oladimeji.
