Kwara State Government Inaugurates New University Board

The Kwara State Government, North Central Nigeria has inaugurated the new board of Kwara State University (KWASU)’s Governing Council.

Inaugurating the board, the State Deputy Governor , Mr. Kayode Alabi recalled that a few days ago, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq approved the appointment of the board members to the governing council of the Kwara State University (KWASU).

He said “Your appointments, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, is a vote of confidence in your personal integrity, your achievements in your endeavors, and your commitment to the service of the people of Kwara State at various levels before.”

While admonishing the chairman and members to work assiduously to further the course of the institution, Mr. Alabi charged them to work with all stakeholders with the intention to make KWASU a shining example in innovative research, quality tertiary education, community service, and efficient service delivery to its public.

Speaking further, the Deputy Governor stated that at this sober moment in the nation’s history where resources are increasingly scarce, there is the need for prudent management of scarce resources, patriotism, and discipline at all levels.

In her remarks, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Mary Arinde noted that the inauguration is a significant milestone that reflects the state government’s commitment to the advancement of tertiary education and the pursuit of excellence in learning and research.

Responding on behalf of the new council, the board chairman, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin expressed appreciation to the governor for carefully selecting the members to contribute from their wealth of knowledge and experience to the development of education in Kwara state.
