Kwara State Government Meets Stakeholders To Plan Mega Empowerment

In an effort to continually improve the living conditions of the people and boost the local economy, the Kwara State Government is planning a mega empowerment that will benefit thousands of Kwarans, including petty traders and artisans from across the state.
The committee, which will oversee the process of empowerment, has met with stakeholders drawn from different demography.
They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the government to make it a reality.
Leaders of the associations present at the meeting included Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Muslim Youths Societies, Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Coalition of Kwara North Groups (CKNG), and Coalition of Kwara Civil Society Organisations.
Others are Kwara State Artisans Congress, Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Association of Independent Transporters (AIT), Allied Truck Transport Association of Nigeria (ATTAN), Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Nigeria Union of Road and Transport Workers (NURTW), Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HIDS),
Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) and Muslim Women Societies, Center for Community Empowerment and Poverty Eradication (CCEPE), National Council for Women Societies (NCWS).
According to the chairperson of the committee, Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) Princess Bukola Babalola, “this mega empowerment is part of the effort of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led administration to improve the living conditions of the people”.
She added that “the state government is looking to empower thousands of Kwarans and that the committee will ensure the individuals are the most qualified”.
