The First Lady of Kwara state and CEO of Ajike People Support Centre, Dr. Olufolake AbdulRazaq has tasked the government and stakeholders to protect the rights of African Child.
The First Lady urged African Governments, civil society organisations, the media and other stakeholders to undertake advocacy for the realisation and improvement of the rights of the African Child against harmful practices.
“I implore African Governments, Civil Society Organisations, the Media and other Stakeholders to undertake advocacies for greater realisation of the rights of the African Child against harmful practices,” she said.
Mrs AbdulRazaq said this on Thursday in her message to mark this year’s edition of the annual International Day of the African child-themed, “Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy and Practice since 2013”.
She, however, described the day as an opportunity to take stock of what has been done about the adoption of policies and practices affecting children in Africa.
