Kwara State Holds Special Prayer For Successful 2024 Hajj

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the process of the 2024 Hajj rites with a special prayer led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Ibn Salihu for its success.

The event held at the premises of the board featured short sermon by the Grand Khadi Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen who admonished all intending pilgrims to be of good conduct while in the holy land.

The prayer session saw the convergence of all intending pilgrims from the state who are billed for the journey to Saudi Arabia this year.

Embrace good virtues

The Grand Khadi, Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen charged the intending pilgrims to renew their faith, do away with sins and embrace good virtues for their transformative process.

The State Amirul Hajj, Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe said ”aside from renovation of the hajj camp, efforts are on by government to ensure direct flights from Kwara to Saudi Arabia.”

The Chairman of the board, Professor Mashood Mahmood Jimba urged the pilgrims to have abiding faith in the board, assuring them of an improved communication process during the exercise.

The Executive Secretary, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir who corroborated the views of board chairman said that “the visa for the first batch of intending pilgrims are ready.”

He said “the board planned to have a ten flights scheduled to convey all intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia beginning from twentieth May.”

Para-military organisations which include the Nigeria  Immigration Service, Natiinal Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), were also ground educating the intending pilgrims on travel guides as well as the dos and don’ts.
