Christian pilgrims from Kwara State for this year’s pilgrimage to Jerusalem have arrived safely in Jordan.
During their stay in the Holy Land, the pilgrims will visit key spiritual sites in Jordan, Israel, and other significant locations as part of their pilgrimage activities.
The pilgrims are set to engage in prayers, meditations, and other religious observances, marking an important journey of faith.
The Kwara State Pilgrims Welfare Board has expressed satisfaction with the safe arrival of the group and assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to facilitate their spiritual activities throughout the pilgrimage.
The visit to these holy sites is a cherished experience for the pilgrims, as it allows them to deepen their faith and reflect on the spiritual significance of the locations they visit.
A total of fifty one Pilgrims from the state are performing the 2025 pilgrimage.
The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, acknowledged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who had earlier accompanied the pilgrims to the Airport.
Adegbite disclosed that AbdulRazaq is the first sitting Governor that ever bidded his state’s Christian pilgrims farewell before departure.
According to him, this showed the kind of love the governor has for his people.
Governor AbdulRazaq accompanies pilgrims to Airport, bids farewell
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had earlier on Friday night accompanied the state’s Christian pilgrims to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport to bid them farewell.
It has been a routine for the Governor to pay courtesy visit to intending pilgrims and also accompany them to the airport as a way of identifying with them.
During his visit, Governor AbdulRazaq exchanged pleasantries with the pilgrims who took turns to commend his humility and giant strides across all sectors in the state. He urged intending pilgrims from Kwara State to be good ambassadors and apostles of the state and country at large.
The Governor’s visit, as always, drew applauses from the pilgrims, who, in turn, appreciated him and prayed for God’s guidance and mercies for him to continue to succeed in office.
Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, for his part, said the Governor has been supportive towards the success of all the programme and activities of Christians not just in Kwara state but the nation at large.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Professor Timothy Opoola while appreciating the governor for his benevolence and support towards achieving a hitch-free exercise advised this year’s intending pilgrims from the state to abide by the rules and regulations of the host countries and that of the pilgrimage activities.
The intending pilgrims from the state who will be visiting Israel and Jordan departed to Jordan at about 10:45pm on Friday.
