Kwara United unveils Azeez Mohammed as coach

Kwara United of Ilorin unveiled its new manager on Wednesday – Azeez Audu Mohammed.

He replaced Abdullahi Usman Biffo after the expiration of his 3 years contract.

Biffo led the Afonja Warriors to finish fourth in the NPFL last season – grabbing one of the CAF Confederations Cup final places.

The Kaduna-born coach is regarded in Nigerian football circles as a modern-day tactician.

Mohammed had an impressive football career; playing for Kada stars FC, Ranchers Bees and Jasper United fc Onitsha respectively.

The 45-year old then moved to Sudan were he became a cult-hero.

The Nigerian of Igala extraction coached over six well organized Clubs in Sudan – promoting them from lower Divisions to Top league sides.

They include: Shabab FC in 2012; Al Maurada FC in 2014; Alamir FC between 2014/15; Wadil Nyala FC in 2015; Alamal Athbara FC between 2015/16 Season; Wad Hashim Sinnar SC between 2016/17 and Al Hilal Alfashir between 2018/21.

Mohammed berthed on the Nigerian coaching scene in 2020 with Katsina United – securing their status in the NPFL before leaving the team.

The new helms man at the Ilorin-based is fluent in English, Arabic, Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo languages.
