Kwara University of Education gets Acting VC, Salman

The Kwara State Governor,  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed Professor Medinat Salman as the pioneer Acting Vice Chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED) Ilorin.

A professor of mathematics education, she was until the appointment a senior lecturer at the department of science education and coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre at the University of Ilorin.

Medinat Salman had her Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1985; a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education at the University of Ilorin in 1990; and a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education from University of Ilorin in 1998.

She is the first female professor from Ilorin Emirate.

Her research interests are Mathematics Education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovation in mathematics education in the developing world.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye said the appointment is with immediate effect.
