Labour Party Presidential Campaign Train Visits Gombe State

The Presidential Campaign Train of the Labour Party has visited Gombe State to seek for votes from the residents of the state, with apromise to build a new Nigeria that the people will be proud of.

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi and his running mate, Mr. Yusuf Datti, both urged Nigerians not to use sentiments to vote in the Presidential election in February, but vote for improved wellbeing of the people.

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, while addressing women supporters in Gombe, said voting based on sentiments had not benefitted citizens in the country, thereby urging them to vote people who could fix Nigeria’s problems.

Mr. Obi also appealed to Nigerian voters to turn out en masse to vote leaders with integrity and competence.

According Mr. Obi, no Nigerian will fare better for voting leaders based on shared affinity.

Do you buy bread cheaper anywhere because you are from the North? So, tell them it is not a tribe thing. So it is the South. Let nobody tell you it is about religion. Anybody who tells you is about religion, tell them, ’Show me where Muslims buy food cheaper, let me come there and buy. That is what they have told you to deceive you in the past.

Speaking on the issue of the school of thought that the Labour Party does not have the structure to win the election, Mr. Obi said structure was part of the reasons Nigerians had remained poor and lacked the desired change,”Mr. Obi said.

The Labour Party Presidential Campaign Train was at the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe, where it inaugurated the Labour Party Presidential Campaign in the state.

The Vice Presidential Candidate, Mr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, described Mr. Obi as a man with the needed character to bring a new Nigeria.

Mr. Baba-Ahmed gave the assurances that if given the opportunity to serve as Nigeria’s President, Mr. Obi would not disappoint Nigerians, because he had integrity and would surely fulfil the promises made.

“He has integrity and whatever he says he will do and that is why I am with him. Obi will not steal the money that belong to the poor, he is here to rescue Nigeria from its challenges, so trust us with your votes and we will deliver good governance to you,” said Mr. Baba-Ahmed.
