The Action Democratic Party, ADP says it is in support of the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, in its strike action over the sack of workers by the Kaduna State government in Northwest Nigeria.

The National Chairman of the ADP, Mr Yabagi Sani, who stated this in a press statement added that the party has been monitoring the development that led to the industrial action.

Mr Yabagi Sani added that the ongoing labour strike in Kaduna State is a complication of the prevailing agonising pains of a people already weighed down by the burden of insecurity and abject poverty.

Mr Sani referred to the action of Kaduna State Governor, Mr Nasir El-Rufai as “inhuman, as well a breach of Nigeria’s constitution, international labour laws and conventions.”

He also urged the APC-led government to step into the crisis by deploying all necessary instruments at its disposal to prevail on the Kaduna state government to come off its hard-line posture, impunity and recalcitrance.
