Lagos SWAN top awards for Sanwo-Olu and others

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will lead the cast of award recipients at the Lagos chapter of the Sports Writers of Nigeria (SWAN) gala and award night holding today at the association’s secretariat.

SWAN will also bestow a special recognition award on Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare; Chairman, Bet9ja, Otunba Kunle Soname and CEO of Owu Sportswear, Tunji Brown; for their contribution to the development of sports in Nigeria.

The association will also honour five of its former chairmen for their contributions to sports reportage. These include Obiora Nezianya, Tony Ubani, Frank Ilaboya, Niyi Oyeleke and Fred Edoreh

Meanwhile, the grand finale of the 2021 Bet9ja/Lagos SWAN Cup will hold today at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Lagos.

The final of the competition will pit Pooja Media, which defeated 2018 winner, Complete Sports, in the semifinal, against Community Watch, conquerors of Television Continental (TVC).

The third place match will feature TVC against Complete Sports before a novelty game between Lagos SWAN All Stars and All Stars International Veterans.
