Lagos, USAID to ease impact of HIV/AIDS on orphans, others
The Lagos State Government and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has initiated the association for reproductive and family health so as to ease the impact of HIV/AIDS on orphans and others.
Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Governor, disclosed this in Ikeja while commending the USAID for the resources deployed in the orphan and helpless children project in the state.
“The impact of the project would be greatly felt, and will go a long way to reshape the lives of the orphans and helpless children.”
According to a statement, the project is to lighten the impact of HIV/AIDS on orphans, helpless children and their care givers in the state.
The Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu, who was honored at the occasion as the Grand Ambassador for Orphans and helpless Children by the Association of Reproductive and Family Health, commended the support channeled towards the project.
“I applaud the state’s Ministry of Youth and Social Development for producing orphan and vulnerable children state operational plan, which will help in the implementation of the USAID project.”
Similarly, the Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr. Segun Dawodu, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olugbenga Ayoola Aina, noted that thousands of Lagosians had benefited from the projects powered by the USAID.
