Lamido Adamawa Calls for Unity, Peace Among Traditional Rulers

The Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha has called on traditional rulers across the state to work together to promote peaceful coexistence as a foundation for sustainable development.

Dr Mustapha made the call during the turbaning ceremony of the 3rd Dankade of Adamawa, Mr Dahiru Hammandikko.

The monarch, also known as the Lamido Fombina, urged the newly installed titleholder to continue to uphold the virtues of good character and integrity for which he has long been known, noting that such qualities would inspire others within the community.

Speaking through his Galadima, Mr Mustapha Aminu, the Lamido emphasised that meaningful development could only be achieved when traditional leaders joined forces to unite their people and foster harmony.

He said; “Development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace. It is necessary for you to synergise to develop Adamawa.”

In his response, Mr Hammandikko expressed gratitude to the Lamido Fombina and the many dignitaries who attended the ceremony.

Mr. Hammandikko pledged “to work closely with other traditional leaders within the Emirate to preserve the culture and traditions of the people for the overall development of the area.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to diligently carry out the responsibilities assigned to him by the Emirate, particularly in promoting peaceful coexistence, which he said was essential to the progress of both the Emirate and Adamawa State as a whole.

Mr. Hammandikko also pledged to preserve the culture and traditions of the people of the Emirate for the Development of the area.

Overall, he thanked the Lamido for finding him worthy of the title and pledged his loyalty to the Emirate, promising to work tirelessly to support its growth and development.
