Lawmaker Advocates Improved Funding For Community Development Projects

A Lawmaker in Katsina State House of Assembly, Gali- Garba Daya has called on the Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda to allocate additional funding to the state community development Agency (CSDA).

He said improved funding to the agency would enhance the supports for community driven micro projects under the world Bank supported KT — CARES Programme.

Gali Garba who chairs a committee special services (SDGs) at the state House of Assembly, stated this while on a tour to complete the committee’s over sight visit on the inspection of micro projects that were executed in various communities across the state.

According to him, the committee noted that the Agency has significantly contributed in providing essential social amenities in various communities across the state.

Gali Garba emphasised that through the Agency’s efforts many communities have benefitted from improved schools and health facilities, portable water, drainage systems and many other critical facilities

The committee chairman who is member representing Kusada constituency further maintained that increasing the Agency’s funding would enable it to expand it’s impact through supporting more communities in executing vital development projects.

He commended the CSDA and it’s management team for their dedication and exemplary performance through out the years under review.

Speaking during the visit, the General Manager of the Katsina State Development Agency (CSDA) Alhaji Muhammadu Abdul’aziz expressed appreciation for the committee’s oversight role and support for the Agency’s initiatives.

He informed the committee that the micro projects are implemented using community Driven Development approach with rigororous monitoring by the Agency.
