The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Power and representative of Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati Federal Constituency in the House ofRepresentatives, Mr. Joshua Audu Gana, has appealed to Nigerians to prioritise reading as a vital component of personal and national development.

He made the call at the unveiling of four books: The Business of Being Famous on Social Media,  Streaming Stardom, How TikTok and YouTube Are Minting the Next Generation of Celebrities, Secrets of the Streaming Wars and How Netflix, Disney The Battle of the Eyeballs is Reshaping Hollywood and The Ultimate Guide to the Entertainment Industry for Aspiring Actors written by Ikechukwu Paschal Agbaegbu, in Abuja.

The Niger state Federal lawmaker also urged Nigerians to embrace reading as a pathway to success.

“The secret to success is in the habit of reading. After reading, understanding, after understanding comes implementation. That is going out to implement what you understood. So many people just want to see people, hear people and act on hearsay. So, we encourage Nigerians to to go back to reading, studying and getting themselves approved to now share what they understood,” he said.

Mr Gana commended the author of the books and encouraged youths to explore the massive opportunities available in the digital era to improve their lives and that of Nigeria.

He also highlighted the transformative power of literature in shaping informed citizens who can contribute effectively to society.

“As we celebrate this literary milestone, it is clear that events like these play a crucial role in fostering a culture that values education and personal growth through literature,” he said.

He reiterated his commitment to supporting youth-oriented initiatives across the country.
