Lawmaker distributes equipment to trained indigents in Ebonyi

 The Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Obinna Ogba has distributed over 100 equipment/machines and cash donations  to indigents, unemployed youths and women who have undergone training in different skills.

Senator Ogba who was represented by his wife, Dr Francisca Ogba disclosed this during the distribution at Salt lake hotels Abakaliki, the state capital.

The Senator said he embarked on the constituents’ training and the distribution of the equipment through Projects Development Institute PRODA to enable them be financially autonomous and also to contribute meaningfully to the society.

“I am happy that you people performed very well during the training and very glad that we are giving you equipment to start up life and to improve your economy which I know that it would contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria economy.

“I urge you to make judicious use of these machines to the benefit of humanity and to the glory of God”.

He said the equipment/machines were distributed according to the skill they were trained on.

The equipment/machines distributed were Sewing machines, food processing Machines, Microwaves, Mixing Machines, among others.

He called on all the beneficiaries to be Ambassadors of economic transformation in Nigeria.

Moreso, one of the leaders of PRODA, Mr Onu Chukwudi said the essence of the program is to create employment and to properly engage the Youths and women in the State and Nigeria at large.

Mr Onu added that “the empowerment would go a long way in ameliorating the rate of unemployment in the State and also improve the economic stability of the nation”.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mr Godwin Ogbu and Mrs Nwenyi Ginikachi expressed joy over the empowerment and thanked their benefactors and prayed for more Economic emancipation for them.
