Lawmaker Mourns Victims of Niger State Tanker Explosion

The House of Representative member representing Lavun, Edati and Mokwa federal constituencies of Niger state, Joshua Audu Gana has commiserated with the Governor and people of Niger state over the loss of over fifty lives in a tanker explosion in the state.

In a statement, the lawmaker described the incident as tragic and unfortunate.

He further commiserated with the Members Representing Agaie, Lapai Federal constituency, Agaie State Constituency and the Emir of Agaie and the Traditional Council and the good people of Agaie town, the families of the Bereaved from Wudil, Kano State and owners of businesses whose goods and services were lost in the tragic accident.

He prayed that God receives the soul of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.

Gana noted that the accident which also affected some properties in the area is a harrowing disaster considering the hardship in the country.

He commended the Niger State Emergency Management Agency for prompt response and mass burial of the deceased.

The lawnmower prayed for the repose of their souls and  for God to comfort the Niger State Governor Umar Bago, the families of the deceased and the state in general.

It would be recalled that over 50 people were confirmed dead in a petrol tanker explosion in the Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State.

The petrol tanker reportedly collided head-on with a trailer carrying travellers and cattle from Wudil, Kano State.

The victims were  given mass burial as the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 8th, 2024.
