Lawmaker Partners With NADDC on CNG Revolution For Constituents

In a progressive move aimed at driving innovation, job creation, and sustainable development, the lawmaker representing Lavun, Mokwa and Edati Federal Constituency, Mr. Joshua Audu Gana has initiated a partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).

The lawmaker held a strategic meeting with the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr. Joseph Osanipin, to explore and unlock critical Federal Government initiatives on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

He said that the purpose of the partnership is to roll out a robust clean energy and skills development programme across Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati Federal Constituency, with the core goal of promoting youth empowerment,economic empowerment and environmental sustainability.

He said that the essence of the meeting was also to tap into the renewed hope CNG Policy to bring development of his constituency and Niger state as a whole.

“So, on behalf of my people, I’m here to collaborate, to seek partnership, to work with you to empower my people”, he said.

According to Mr. Gana, the partnership will include CNG Training & Certification for youths and professionals in conversion, maintenance, and energy handling of cars

It will also involve skills development for artisans, welders, and auto technicians in alternative fuel technologies.

It will also create jobs and promote entrepreneurial ventures in the green energy sectors.

It will also involve energy Efficiency Advocacy, reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels and aligning with national climate targets

“We’re not just talking about change, we are delivering it. It’s time to skill up, power up, and lead the charge toward a sustainable, economically viable future for our people.”

“This initiative is not only a timely response to global energy trends but also a strategic fulfillment of the Federal Government’s push for clean, affordable energy alternatives and a more inclusive economy”, Mr. Gana said.

He said that the council is one of the agencies that would help Niger state to help Nigeria through proper training of the youths for empowerment.

He noted that Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati are on the path to becoming hubs of innovation, empowerment, and energy leadership.

Earlier, the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr. Joseph Osanipin, told Mr. Gana that the council is in the business of building capacity of Nigerians.

He promised to assist in the training of artisans Lavun, Mokwa and Edati Federal Constituency.

He said that the council also trains people for export of expertise.

“We are not going to stop training because that’s what we offer. It’s like we are exporting our expertise. We will continue to train, Mr. Osanipin said.

He noted that in recent times, the focus has shifted to energy transition and CNG and the Council is fully involved in it.

The Director General commended the Lawmaker for keeping to his campaign promises.

He said that he will work in line with the legislative agenda of Representative Gana after identifying specific areas of collaboration.

“I don’t want to be too specific about what we are going to do. I will look at our records and look at our training programme we have and see how we can handle some of those trainings. We will sit down and identify specific areas where we can work with you”, he said.

He also advised the Lawmaker to also train Mokwa youths on heavy duty training as Mokwa has high heavy duty traffic.

Mr. Gana presented copies of his thirty points Legislative agenda to the council pointing out areas of interest.
