The Member representing Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati Federal Constituency, Mr. Joshua Audu Gana has proven his commitment to his people by providing relief materials for Mokwa flood victims.

The provision was in fulfilment of a promise he made during his visit to the IDP camp in Tifinmadza, Mokwa, and the Ndayako communities.

He said that the gesture once again was a demonstration of his dedication to the welfare of his constituents, as a leader who stands with his people, not only in times of progress but also in moments of adversity.

“I will provide every necessary support to rebuild the lives of my people who were severely affected by the flood.” Mr. Gana said.

The items included rice, maize, spaghetti, salt, Maggi cubes, groundnut oil, and tomato paste, which were carefully distributed by his aides and NEMA officials to ensure fairness, orderliness, and that the most vulnerable received help first.

Before this latest intervention, Hon. Gana had previously donated ₦5 million in cash to support the victims, facilitated an additional ₦1 million from a fellow House of Representatives member, and mobilized other humanitarian assistance from well-meaning individuals.

Recall that on June 14, 2025, Mr. Gana personally visited Mokwa town and Ndayako community to commiserate with victims of the devastating May 29 flood.

Deeply moved by their plight, he returned to the National Assembly and, on July 2, 2025, moved a motion urging the Federal Government to intensify relief efforts, support affected families, and implement preventive measures to avert future disasters.

The victims turned out in large numbers, with many expressing heartfelt gratitude.

“This support is a lifeline for us,” one beneficiary said, “and we will never forget his kindness.” They said.

The event witnessed the presence of high-profile individuals such as HRH, the Ndalile of Mokwa, Alhaji Shaba Aliyu (ably represented by Mallam Mohammed Ahmed Emilogba, the Kusodun of Ndalile of Mokwa), the Niger State PDP Secretary, Barrister Suleiman Zhigun, Pastor Jacob Saba, Director of Administration at the Constituency Office of Hon. Joshua Audu Gana, the incoming PDP Zonal Chairman of Zone ‘A’, Hon. Abdullahi B. Tauheed, and several other important dignitaries.
