Lawmaker trains youths on skills acquisition, empowers small business owners

A Member Representing Pero Chonge state Constituency in Gombe state Mr. Samuel Markus Wina has sponsored the the training of youths in his Constituency in different skills acquisitions programs.
Mr. Wina, while presenting the certificate of completion to the beneficiaries at the presentation of his mid-term report and town hall meeting, also presented cash donations to sixty selected business owners in the Constituency to boost their businesses.
He said the gesture was aimed at empowering the people of the constituency and provide a platform to carry the constituents along in the democratic process through town hall meetings to get a first-hand report on the needs of the people.
“In our campaign promises we highlighted four sectors to focus on and these were the Education sector, Agriculture sector, health sector and the Social sector and these promises has served as the fulcrum of our campaigns across the six-wards of the Pero Chonge Constituency”.
He thanked the people of Pero Chonge constituency for giving him the opportunity to represent them at the State Assembly, hence the need for continuous Community engagement to evaluate effort made in improving the living conditions of the Constituents.
“Under my leadership, we have been able to create job opportunities for our unemployed graduates in different programs, parastatals, Agencies, N-Power enrollment, renovation and drilling of boreholes, scholarship and many other human capacity development program across the six-wards of the Constituency. The provision of skill acquisitions training for our youth as well as scholarship to different levels of educational pursuit within and outside the country has been the hallmark of our achievements”,
he said.
On his part, the District Head of Gwandum, one of the wards in Pero Chonge Constituency, Mr. Yahaya Haruna thanked the legislator for empowering the youths and business owners in the constituency noting that such initiatives couldencourage the people to entrust more leadership position to the legislator.
He called on the beneficiaries to take the advantage of the skills they acquired to develop themselves and the community at large.
