The House of Representatives has paid glowing tribute to late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari at plenary.
The tributes was led by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Benjamin Kalu.
He said that President Buhari was a lover of die process.The Deputy Speaker also noted that former President signed landmark laws in Nigeria.
He said he has to wear the former President Buhari’s favorite attire to show that “There is a bit of Buhari in all of us”.
Mr. Sada Soli in his tribute said that the loss of former President Buhari, is a lost of an enigmatic leader.
“Late President Buhari was a moral compass to many” Mr. Soli said.
Similarly, Mr. Abubakar Hassan Laraba, described former President Buhari as a leader per excellence.
“We will miss our dear President. We will miss his doggedness. The nation will not forget President Buhari, “ he said
On his part, Mr. Lanre Okunola, said that President Buhari was a patriot.
He said that Buhari was a leader that was not flamboyant but very simple. Mr. Okunola said.
For Mr. Murktah Shagaya, the name Buhari represents strength.
He said Buhari believed in Nigeria even when it was hard to do so.
In his tribute, Mr. Ahmed Jaha said that former President Muhammadu Buhari was a man of integrity and had respect for the rule of law.
“He was a president that had respect for executive procedures,” he said.
He commended the former President for rescuing the north East from the claws of Boko haram.
The former Deputy Speaker Mr. Ahmed Wase, said he worked very closely with Buhari.
He said that the late former President was legislative friendly who gave the House free hands to work.
He recalled how former President Buhari called him to step down from the House of Representatives speakership race on 2019.
For Mr. Adewale Ahmed, he prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed former President.
In his tribute, Mr. Bello El-Rufai thanked Buhari for his sense of unity.
Mrs Miriam Onuora said that former President Buhari’s administration introduced a lot of social welfare packages for Nigerian youths and women.
“He a man of integrity”, he said.
For Mr. James Faleke, he personally came across former President Buhari as the coordinator of Buhari campaign in Lagos.
“He was a man of few words. No dogo turenchi at all”.
He prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
A representative of former President Buhari’s constituency, Mr. Aminu Daura on behalf of his people, appreciated the government, the national assembly and all Nigerians who gave the former leader a befitting burial.
The Deputy Speaker, Mr. Benjamin Kalu, closed the tribute with a solemn prayer for the repose of late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s soul.
