Lawmakers from Katsina State in the National Assembly have called for the deployment of additional troops and military assets to strengthen security operations in the state.
The legislators made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, in Abuja.
They briefed the CDS on the security challenges confronting Katsina communities and commended the Armed Forces for their sustained commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the state and across the country.
The delegation was led by Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman, Senate Committee on Army.

They also paid glowing tribute to the gallant troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight to defend Nigeria, describing their contribution as heroic and invaluable.
In his response, General Musa warmly welcomed the legislators and appreciated their support for the Armed Forces.
He assured them of continued partnership with the National Assembly to strengthen security operations nationwide.

The CDS also revealed that the military has deployed newer tactics and strategies to address evolving security challenges, with the ultimate goal of restoring peace and stability across Nigeria.
The visit underscores the shared commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the National Assembly to safeguard the nation.
