Students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has blocked the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in protest of the ongoing strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The students blocked both sides of the highway on Tuesday, causing total gridlock, preventing traffic flow on the inward and outward bound Lagos.
The protest led by Ogun State NANS Chairman, Simeon Damilola, described the ongoing strike as unfortunate and appealed to the Nigerian government to the needful.
He vowed that the students would continue their protests across major highways in the Southwest until the Nigerian Government yield to the demands of the striking lecturers.
