The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, has yet again facilitated medical equipment to Ogele Primary Health Center, Ogele Ward, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

This according to him, is part of his bid to elevate the standard of healthcare delivery across his senatorial district. The intervention came against the backdrop of the growing demands for equitable access to quality health services and stamp out the challenges that stymie the rural dwellers from meeting their health needs.

Speaking at the delivery of the items to the facility, Sen. Oloriegbe, represented by his media aide, Bolaji Aladie, said the intervention is in further fulfilment of his electoral promises to provide essential services to the people in a manner that strengthens inclusive growth, reiterating that his commitment to uplifting the collective wellness remained sacrosanct.

“We have chosen to stay committed to facilitating interventions that strengthen community focused health initiatives, to grease the skids for inclusive development that guarantees equitable access to essential services. This is consistent with our resolve to provide services grounded on equity and fairness with no vestige of discrimination.

“Our enduring quest to improve the general wellness of the people, will continue to be given maximum priority in further fulfilment of our electoral promises. We are determined in our resolve to deepen access to quality and affordable health care services to undo the social disparities that limit the ability of underprivileged sections of society to approach essential services.

“The need for medical equipment facilitation to this clinic became obvious to us sometime last year when we came here to organise medical outreaches for the people of Asa Local Government Area and this we are fulfilling today. We therefore implore you to judiciously put these items to use for improved services and as well maintain them, so they can stand the test of time.”

The traditional ruler of the benefiting community, the Aare of Ogele, Alhaji Abubakar Ishola Akanbi, represented by Alhaji Muhammad Mobolaji Amosa, applauded the lawmaker for using his privileged position to better the lots of his constituents, particularly in the area of health interventions. “The last three years of the Senator has changed the face of Senatorial representation in our district.”

According to him, Oloriebi has used his position to facilitate tremendous developments which we have never witnessed before his emergence.

The Asa Local Government Area Chairman, Alhaji Abdulganiy Atebise, represented by Supervisory Councillor for Agric, Yusuf Weliweli, in his reaction, noted that Oloriegbe has raised the bar of legislative representation in Kwara Central so high that those coming behind him must ensure they meet up with him, if they intend to have space in the book of good history.

“The book of good history won’t forget Senator Oloriegbe’s name with how high he has raced the bar of legislative representation, this is a man that despite he lost in the shadow election, kept serving the people as if nothing happened. Those who are coming after him have a daunting task ahead of them, if they wish to be remembered for good with that seat they are aspiring for.”

The Officer-in-Charge of the facility, Hajia Abdullahi Khadijat, on behalf of the management, acknowledged that the equipment would improve their service outputs to the communities patronising the clinic, whilst pledging assurance of judicious utilization of the items as she appreciates the Senator for the gesture extended to their facility.
