One of Nigeria’s leading sportswear companies, LMK Sports Kits Limited, has entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese sports equipment manufacturer, FlySports, to produce affordable and high-quality badminton gear for athletes and officials across the country.
The partnership was formalized at a signing ceremony held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, in the presence of Joe Chen the marketing manager of the company and seasoned badminton coach Jimoh Antony.
Speaking on the significance of the deal, Abdulfatai Salaudeen, Chief Executive Officer of LMK Sports Kits Limited, described the partnership as a timely intervention aimed at addressing the growing need for accessible and durable badminton kits in Nigeria.
“This agreement comes at a critical time when Nigerian badminton players and officials need affordable and reliable equipment to push them to the next level,” Salaudeen said.
“Our collaboration with FlySports is focused on delivering exactly that.”
He further revealed that the production line will include: 4.5mm thickness training mats, 6mm tournament mats, 8mm BWF-standard international mats and 5mm outdoor mats.
“Our goal is to make badminton equipment available and affordable for all. With FlySports’ technical expertise and our deep understanding of the local sports ecosystem, we are confident this partnership will benefit athletes nationwide,” he added.
The partnership marks a major step in boosting grassroots and professional badminton in Nigeria, providing the necessary tools for talent development and international competitiveness.
