‘Madam Kofo’, Chico Ejiro honoured at Best of Nollywood Awards
Veteran Actress, Abiola Atanda, popularly known as Madam Kofo has bagged the special recognition award at the Best of Nollywood Awards hosted in Lokoja, Kogi state, north central Nigeria.
Madam Kofo, known for her remarkable roles in popular TV Sitcoms and home videos, donned her signature ‘satellite’ style head gear when she received the award.
While presenting the award to the recipient, the Governor of Kogi state Yahya Bello said he still remembers her from her movies which made hits when he was a child. He prayed that the Actress continues to get the stregnth to continue to thrill her fans with her remarkable talent.
The late Nigerian filmmaker, Chico Ejiro was also given the Special Recognition Award.
The top nominees were ‘Rattle Snake‘ remake and ‘The Milkmaid‘ .
‘The Milkmaid’ as well as ‘Rattle Snake’ remake, produced by Charles Okpaleke and directed by Ramsey Nouah, had 14 nominations each.
Also, this year’s edition of the award featured 30 categories in total.
Pere, BBNaija season six housemate, also got nomination for ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ (English) and ‘Best Kiss in a movie’ for his role in ‘Butterflies’ respectively.
