Mandate Secretary Launches On-Spot Assessments of FCTA Health Facilities

In a proactive stride toward advancing healthcare services, the Mandate Secretary of Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe has recently conducted on-the-spot assessments of 14 general/district hospitals in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to Boost Healthcare Standards.

In a statement by the Special Media Assistant, Office of the Mandate Secretary, Bola Ajao, the Mandate Secretary said the initiative is aimed to evaluate current healthcare facilities, identify areas for improvement, and align service delivery with global best practices, reflecting the commitment of the government to a healthcare system responsive to community needs.

“The tour, mandated by FCT Minister Barrister Nysom Wike, aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with swift interventions in infrastructure, human capacity, medical equipment, staffing, and operational standardization,” she said.

Acknowledging the dedication of healthcare workers, Dr. Fasawe assured continued support and emphasized the government’s commitment to a robust healthcare system prioritizing citizens’ well-being.

 

She urged the public to refrain from attacking health workers and affirmed the administration’s dedication to bequeathing a responsive and efficient healthcare system.

“The first phase covered hospitals in Rubochi, Kwali, Abaji, Zuba, BWari, and Kubwa, with the second phase scheduled for the next year,” she added.

The Mandate Secretary emphasized that insights from the visit would guide future initiatives and reforms, reinforcing the administration’s pledge to foster a healthcare system that meets evolving needs.

“The 14 hospitals under the Health and Environment Secretariat’s supervision play a crucial role in achieving this vision,” she said.
