Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’ yanked off Cinema screening time
Marvel superhero movie, ‘The Eternals’, which was slated to debut in Nigerian cinemas on November 5, has been yanked from screening schedules.
No Cinema across the country premiered the movie as at Friday November 5 and there hasn’t been any comments from Cinema operators and the National Film Video and Censors Board (NFVCB).
The Chloé Zhao directed film has sparked global controversy with countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait banning the film after Disney reportedly refused to cut a same-sex intimate scene.
Zhao had in an interview shared that she hoped the film won’t be banned anywhere in the global market so fans can get a ‘full experience’.
In the controversial scene, actors Brian Tyree Henry and Haaz Sleiman share a passionate kiss.
‘The Eternals’ starring Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee and Kit Harrington portrays a new set of superheroes introduced to the Marvel Cinematic universe. It will be the first Marvel film to brandish same sex relationship.
