MDCN inducts 26 doctors at Edo state University
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), has inducted 26 newly qualified doctors at the Edo State University, Uzaire, into the profession.

Dr. Tajudeen Sanusi, the Registrar of the council, administered the Hippocratic Oath to the newly inducted doctors and urged them to thoroughly understand and abide by the medical code of ethics to prevent any violations.
Sanusi, who was represented by the Deputy Registrar, Dr. Anthony Nwakama explained that, “MDCN is the body responsible for the regulation of licensed and alternative medicine.”
He warned that the council would not hesitate to sanction any practitioner found wanting in the discharge of professional duty.
Earlier, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, the Vice Chancellor of the University, said the event marks a significant milestone in the history of education in the country.
He commended the state government for the support given to the medical college of the University as well as the upgrading of the school’s Teaching Hospital in Auchi.
In his lecture titled, “Violence Against Healthcare Workers:The Role of the World Medical Association,” Dr. Osahon Enabulele, who bemoaned the rot in the health system, said physicians and other members of the health workforce are still subjected to acts of violence.
Also speaking, the Acting Provost of the College of Medical Sciences of the Universe, Dr. Kenneth Atoe, charged the doctors to be good ambassadors of the medical profession.
