Minister of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has called on corporate organization and individuals to construct and maintain existence parks in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Minister made this call after receiving a delegation of Rotary International District 9125, Nigeria led by its District Governor, Dr. Mike Omotosho, in Abuja.
Malam Bello noted that such Parks when implemented will be inaugurated and name the organization that has taken the responsibility of maintaining it.
The Minister urged that public parks should be made conducive for family’s recreation which includes children in accordance with the international standard.
“You have to adopt a Park and name it ‘Rotary Park’ aims to serve humanity because families can use such places for relaxation just like what is obtainable in other advanced cities across the globe.
“I enjoined you to continue with the uncommon service to humanity as the FCT Administration will continued to support the Rotary International for the benefit of humanity,” he emphasized.
He promised to make available a suitable plot for the Rotary International to build a Rotary House that would serve as its headquarters and a hub for the organization in Africa.
“All organizations serving humanity would be diligently assisted to carry out such duties because they are desirable partners in the development of the nation”, Malam Bello remarked.
The District Governor of Rotary International District 9125, Nigeria, Dr. Mike Omotosho revealed that the organization has 500 Districts all over the World.
The Governor also disclosed that the African office of the organization is still situated and operating from Zurich, Switzerland, thereby solicited for a plot of land to build a Rotary House in Abuja.
He noted that the organization has already kept N100 million aside for the project.
