The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has assured Nigerians of the military’s determination to end insecurity across the country.

General Musa made this known during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Information and Culture in Kebbi State.

Speaking through the Director of Defence Information, Defence Headquarters, Brigadier General Tukur Isma’ila Gusau, he emphasised the importance of collaboration with the media in tackling security challenges.

“The military aims to strengthen its partnership with the media on security matters,” he said.

Brigadier General Gusau expressed concern over reports that some communities are allegedly supporting bandits by providing them with food and motorcycles, while others are being protected by security agencies.

He called on youths and community leaders to share credible intelligence with security agencies, especially in the North West region, to help bring an end to insecurity.

He emphasised that everyone has a role to play in promoting peace and stability.

Kebbi State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, advised the military to intensify efforts in sensitising traditional rulers across all communities in the state on the dangers of harbouring criminals.

He reiterated the Kebbi State Government’s continued support for security agencies, noting that the state remains one of those significantly affected by insecurity in the North West.
