Minister Directs CDS To Provide Security For Grid Collapse Repairs

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru has instructed the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, to provide security for the restoration of an electricity tower, in accordance with directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu had expressed concern over the development on the recent collapse of the grid due to third party interference which resulted in widespread power outages across Northern Nigeria, causing significant disruptions to citizens’ lives.

A statement by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, underlined the government’s commitment to prioritising these repairs to restore grid functionality and benefit all citizens.

The Minister has also appealed to Nigerians, particularly those in affected areas, to exercise patience and understanding as efforts are intensified to resolve the issue promptly and prevent future disruptions.
