Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has hailed 15-year-old autistic artist Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke for making history by painting and unveiling the world’s largest art canvas, earning him a Guinness World Record.

Tagbo-Okeke’s masterpiece, titled ‘Impossibility is a Myth,’ measures an astounding 12,303.87 square meters, surpassing the previous record of 9,652 square meters set in 2022.

The artwork was officially unveiled at Eagle Square, Abuja, where Guinness World Records adjudicator Glenn Pollard presented him with the prestigious certificate.

In her congratulatory message, the Minister described Tagbo-Okeke’s achievement as ‘a testament to the limitless potential within the neurodivergent community.’

She said; “His success is not just a personal victory but an inspiration to countless other children, proving that with the right support and opportunities, every child can break barriers and achieve greatness.”

Tagbo-Okeke, who was diagnosed with autism at an early age, found a voice through art, using colors, textures, and brush strokes to express emotions and ideas.

His record-breaking feat adds to his accolades, including becoming the youngest and first Black recipient of the Flame of Peace Award in Vienna, Austria, at age eight.

As Nigeria joined the world and marked World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, his achievement not only sets a new benchmark in the art world but also amplified awareness about autism, reinforcing that talent knows no boundaries.

His record-breaking endeavor was supported by the Zeebah Foundation and MTN Nigeria.
