The Nigerian Minister of State for Works, overseeing the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Bello Mohammad Goronyo has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his dedication to road infrastructure development nationwide under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

During an inspection of the Keffi – Gitata – Kaduna State Border Road and the Keffi – Gitata – Shendam (Plateau State Border Road) in Nasarawa State, the Minister, accompanied by FERMA’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Emeka Agbasi, highlighted the administration’s commitment to improving federal roads.

The projects executed through both contract and direct labour maintenance between 2022 and 2024, span 193.62km of road repairs and recovery in Nasarawa State.
According to him, this underscores the continuous demand for federal government intervention in road infrastructure.

Earlier, Nasarawa State’s Federal Roads Maintenance Aliyu Mohammed, explained that the state’s FERMA office prioritised interventions on major federal roads, focusing on preventive maintenance, recovery of distressed sections, embankment stabilisation, drainage construction, and flood mitigation to ensure road longevity.

FERMA’s Managing Director Emeka Agbasi, FNSE, commended President Tinubu and Minister Goronyo for their support, emphasising FERMA’s efforts to tackle challenges such as rising construction costs, road misuse, workforce training, inadequate operational vehicles, and limited budgetary allocations.

He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to delivering quality road infrastructure as part of the government’s democratic dividends to Nigerians.
