The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari following his death on Sunday, July 13, in a London hospital.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Kyari extended his sympathies not only to the bereaved family but also to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Government and people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians over what he described as a national loss.
Describing Buhari as a “disciplined, principled, and patriotic leader,” Kyari reflected on the late President’s enduring legacy, spanning his time as Nigeria’s Head of State in 1983 and his two-term democratic presidency from 2015 to 2023.
“President Buhari remained unwavering in his commitment to national development, public integrity, and accountability.
“His administration initiated several critical reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria for sustainable growth,” Kyari said.
The minister prayed for divine mercy, asking Allah (SWT) to forgive Buhari’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
