Minister promises more changes in Nigeria’s Aviation Industry

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has promised more changes in the Industry to meet International standard.

Sirika made the promise at the National Aviation Conference organised by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, In Abuja, the nation’s capital.

He commended FAAN for bringing together the Aviation professionals to discuss the challenges affecting the industry and proffer long lasting solutions.

“This is the maiden edition of this conference, and I do hope that going forward, the conference would be institutionalised as a platform where great ideas that will propel the Nigerian Aviation sector into a global reference point will be developed,” the Minister explained.

According to him, the Aviation sector is a gold mine with lots of latent potentials waiting to be explored.

He said; “Our vantage position in terms of regional, population and natural resources has positioned us strategically as a continental leader.

“The Aviation industry must therefore pull resources together to take advantage of these opportunities. The theme of this conference, “Advancing the frontiers of possibilities for safe, secure and profitable air transport” is timely and could not have come at a better time.”

“Globally, the core variables driving air transport is safety and security. Therefore, Nigerian Aviation Industry experienced issues that bother with these variables. Also, while we continue to emphasise safety and security, we must operate profitably, to be able to achieve efficiency and Sustainability,” Sirika stressed.

On the part of the Government, the Minister said; “our doors are open and we are always willing and ready to discuss business as well as partner with investors to bring the desired growth to the industry. 

“I, therefore, implore well-meaning Nigerians and foreign investors alike to come on board and take advantage of these business opportunities, with limitless potential for huge returns on investments.”
