Minister Salako Leads Medical Outreach, Distributes Palliatives in Ogun State

In a dual gesture of care and support, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, spearheaded a free medical outreach and the distribution of subsidy palliatives to residents of Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State, on December 23, 2024.

The medical mission, part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, catered to over 500 adults and 200 children, providing free consultations, screenings for hypertension and diabetes, and medications for common ailments, including malaria, respiratory infections, and arthritis.
The outreach reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare access in underserved communities.
In a statement Dr. Salako, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, distributed palliatives comprising rice and fertilizer to various groups, including market traders, religious leaders, farmers’ associations, and community leaders. The seamless distribution process was praised for its inclusivity and organization.
The event drew notable dignitaries, including traditional rulers such as Oba Yisa Olaniyan of Ipokia, Oba Isola Adelakun of Ayetoro, and Oba Mukaila Salako of Igan Okoto. Also present were political leaders, community figures, and representatives of various associations, underscoring the significance of the initiative.
In his address, Dr. Salako emphasized that the palliatives were a testament to President Tinubu’s dedication to alleviating the impact of subsidy removal on citizens.
He further assured the audience of the government’s commitment to a healthier and more prosperous Nigeria through targeted programs and interventions.
The residents of Ayetoro expressed gratitude for the Federal Government’s gesture, with many acknowledging the outreach’s dual impact on health and welfare. The event marked another step in the administration’s mission to renew hope and improve lives nationwide.
