Nigeria’s minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim has called on stakeholders in the country to collaborate with the ministry to boost youth development in the country.
Dr. Jamila stated this in a brief meeting with Directors, Heads of agencies, and parastatals under the Ministry of Youth Development, when she and the minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande assumed office on Monday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The minister also calls on the staff of the ministry to work with them to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which concerns youth development.
She said: “I hope that we will come together united as one family to drive the renewed hope vision of His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, commander of the in chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Our jobs have been cut out for us, and we understand that when we say development, It means that holistic review, it has to be a holistic approach to development and I believe that is the mandate.
“I am setting the mandate of youth ministry, what Youth Development Ministry says and this is not time to make policy statements, because, first of all, we want everyone to know where we stand as a ministry and then we work together to design for where wherever you need to go on that note. I want to seek and appeal to you, let us work together.
“Let me and my colleagues work together to serve you. As leadership is not about giving orders, we are here as well as servants, we are the servants of youths as political heads representing Mr President and every member of this ministry by bureaucratic rights is a servant of the Nigerian Youth,” she said.
The Permanent Secretary of, the Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Ismail a Abubakar, said the ministry was established to address the challenges of youths in the country.
He therefore assured the ministers of the cooperation of the staff of the ministry saying, “We are ready to cooperate with you in the implementation of programs of the ministry.
