The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, has sought for a deeper collaboration between the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria and the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

Oyetola said the collaboration would strengthen professionalism and enhance operational efficiency in the country’s logistics industry.

He made the call at the investiture ceremony of the 21st President of CILT Nigeria, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The Minister described the new president as ‘a visionary administrator whose leadership would bring renewed vigour to the logistics and transport sector.’

He noted that a longstanding disconnect exists between the Institute and key practitioners in the freight logistics value chain.

Oyetola stressed that bridging this gap was critical to harmonising standards, improving capacity development, and aligning training and certification with industry realities.

He reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy’s recognition of CILT as a strategic partner in building a globally competitive logistics ecosystem.

He expressed confidence that stronger collaboration with CRFFN would help reposition the sector for global best practices.

The Minister commended CILT for its efforts in capacity building, policy development, and promoting professionalism across all transport modes.

He assured the Institute of the Ministry’s continued support in enhancing efficiency, connectivity, and competitiveness in Nigeria’s logistics architecture.
