Minister Takes Study Visit To Morocco To Enhance Nigeria’s Fishery

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, has embarked on a study visit to Morocco, in order to enhance productivity and boost revenue generation from the aquatic sector of the economy.

The visit is meant to enhance Nigeria’s fisheries and aquaculture sector and port efficiency.

The minister engaged with key stakeholders, gaining insights into Morocco’s renowned fisheries industry and port operations.

Mr. Adegboyega further visited the Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Prof. Mohammed Sadiki, as well as the Moroccan Office of National Fisheries, where Moroccan’s innovative approaches to sustainable fishing practices, fisheries management, and aquaculture development was looked at in details. This exposure is expected to inform policy reforms and strategic initiatives in Nigeria’s fisheries sector.

The visit further availed Nigeria’s delegation the opportunity of visiting the impressive Tanger Med Port Complex, a leading logistics hub in the Mediterranean.

The minister also witnessed the port’s cutting-edge technology, streamlined operations, and efficient cargo handling systems.
