Ministers and other top officials in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration have signed performance pledges, committing to achieve specific goals in each sector of the economy.
The ministers signed the performance bonds on Friday, after the 2023 Cabinet Retreat. The retreat was organized by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Special Adviser to the President on strategy and policy coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman.

The Minister of Agriculture, Abubakar Kyari, signed the bond symbolically on behalf of the ministers and other top aides present at the retreat.
Bala Usman said that the performance bond will be reviewed every six months, with ministers presenting scorecards.
The retreat ended with recommendations such as the need to reform Nigeria’s economy to deliver sustained inclusive growth and intensify efforts to block revenue leakages.
The executives also recommended that inadequate infrastructure in the aviation industry be addressed by regulatory agencies upholding safety standards.
The retreat also emphasised the need to develop master plans for the Nigerian aviation industry.
