Ministry of lands gets approval of Nasarawa Assembly on workers welfare

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Survey, has assured the state ministry of Lands and Urban Development of its continued support in order to create an enabling environment for staff to improve productivity, enhance welfare and standard of living.

The Chairman of the committee, David Maiyaki, gave the assurance when the management of the ministry appeared before the committee to defend its 2021 budget proposal at the Assembly Complex in Lafia.

Maiyaki, said that workers need a conducive environment to be productive, hence the need for the committee to continue to support the ministry to succeed.

“I believe in staff welfare, we will support you towards ensuring an enabling environment for the staff of your ministry and for them to excel.

“If you are working without a conducive environment, you will not be productive as expected. We want that ministry to be better.

“We will support you to address your challenges by ensuring that equipment, furniture among others are provided,” Maiyaki said.

Earlier, the Commissioner of the Ministry Dr. Salihu Alizaga, while defending the 2021 budget proposal of the ministry appreciated the committee for supporting the activities of the ministry.

Alizaga has assured of the ministry commitment in initiating positive policies and programmes that would ensure land development in the state.

He, however, appealed to the committee to increase the budgetary provisions of the ministry in order to take care of payment of land compensation, provisions of equipment and furniture among other necessary needs of the ministry.

Meanwhile, the management of the Nasarawa State Boundry Commission led by the Director of Finance and Account ( DFA)Usman Adams also appeared before the committee for 2021 budget and appreciated the committee members for the support the commission is enjoying from them.
