MNJTF calls for more cooperation with Niger Republic

The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Abdul Khalifah has stressed the need for continued support and cooperation with the people of the Diffa region in Niger Republic.

In a statement issued by the Chief of Military Public Information, Headquarters MNJTF, in N’Djamena Chad, Colonel Muhammad Dole, the Force Commander made this known when he paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Diffa region, Issa Lamine.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of participation of the troops from sector 4 Diffa who he said have been very professional in the field.

The Force Commander equally commended the well-coordinated synergy of efforts between the Air Taskforce and ground forces when he visited the Tactical headquarters of MNJTF in Diffa

General Khalifah assured the Governor of the troops’ continuous hard work with the ultimate aim of defeating the terrorists in the region.

The Governor pointed out that some bad elements in the society are collaborating with the Boko Haram terrorists, causing adverse effects on the smooth conduct of the operation.

Mr Lamine promised to mobilise adequate support from the population so as to mitigate these illegal activities of the collaborators and sponsors.

According to the Governor, there is a sense of normalcy returning to troubled spots around the Lake Chad Region.
