With the endorsement, the former Borno state governor and one time Senator, will be presented as the zone’s only candidate at the party’s upcoming national congress.
All other positions in the zone were filled by consensus.
The positions include: North East Vice chairman, Mr Emmanuel Njiwah from Taraba; Secretary, Kabiru Wamba from Gombe; Treasurer, Baffa Haruna from Yobe state, among others.
Responding, Sheriff, who is the current National Chairman of the party, commended the congress for the trust and confidence reposed in him.
