The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the government of President Bola Tinubu as he addresses the challenges confronting the nation.

The Monarch made the call when he received the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu on a courtesy visit at his palace in Lagos. He noted that President Bola Tinubu means well for the nation as he is a man who is grassroots-focused.

“All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers,” he said.

The Oba also admonished the youth to be closer to God noting that Nigerian youth are majorly good and hardworking.

“Though some youth are incurably lazy and are always waiting to be spoon-fed, teach them not to always wait for fish but learn how to fish themselves,” the royal father advised.

The visit by the First Lady was an opportunity for the monarch to restate his appeal for a special status for Lagos State as the former Federal Capital of Nigeria.

The First Lady, who was at the palace in the company of the wives of some State Governors, wives of National Assembly Members and those of some ministers and service chiefs, thanked the royal father for his continued support, prayers and admonitions.

She assured the Monarch that President Tinubu would make life better for Nigerians.

“I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country.

“He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians and will do the best for them,” she stated.

Mrs Tinubu added that the request by Oba Akiolu for a special status for Lagos state will get the attention of the National Assembly through the representatives of the State.
